Robie Sullivan MA(under the supervision of Marc Dipoto, LPC)

Robie Sullivan holds a Masters of Arts in Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University, with an emphasis in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling. Robie is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Missouri. Robie also holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and spent fourteen years practicing law before transitioning to the counseling profession.

Prior to joining Dipoto Counseling Group, Robie gained diverse experience in a community counseling clinic, where she treated individuals, adolescents, couples, and families. Robie’s experience includes clinical treatment of depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, trauma, chronic pain, relationship distress, sexual difficulties, and grief.  A Christian counselor, Robie’s first priority with every client is to build a warm and trusting relationship in which the client feels valued and understood.  Her therapeutic approach is to provide a safe environment for processing painful emotions and transforming patterns that keep clients stuck in unhealthy relational dynamics.  Robie’s passion is to help clients experience greater joy and intimacy in their relationships. She finds working with couples to be highly rewarding, and she pursues ongoing professional training in the treatment of marital issues.

Experienced as a healthy living coach and fitness instructor, Robie also enjoys helping clients discover the physical and mental benefits of exercise for treating depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. She has developed curriculum and led a number of local YMCA groups designed to move clients past emotional blocks on their wellness journeys.

Robie also works as a facilitator for MidAmerica Nazarene University’s graduate counseling program. In this role, Robie assists graduate counseling students in skill development and interpersonal group processing. Robie also enjoys engaging the local community and is frequently asked to speak on marriage, relationship, and wellness issues.  Robie and her husband of 23 years have two children. She enjoys distance running, group fitness, and yoga.
